Episode Notes

In episode #88 of 🎙️The Business Case For Women’s Sports, presented by Ally, Caroline talks with Danette Leighton, the CEO of the Women’s Sports Foundation.

Fifty years ago – shortly following the enactment of Title IX – the Women's Sports Foundation was founded by Billie Jean King as one of the 1st organizations to recognize the role of sports in helping girls and women achieve their full potential in sports & in life.💪

What was started by BJK in 1974 with a $5,000 check, has grown into a multifaceted organization that has invested over $100 million to help girls and women play, compete, and lead - in sports and beyond.

The Women's Sports Foundation believes that giving girls and women access to sports is not only transformative for them, but also beneficial to society at large.

Through their research, advocacy, and community programming, the WSF continues to illuminate the societal and cultural impact that is made when girls and women play sports.

In this episode, hear Danette & Caroline dig into the WSF’s core belief & guiding light: that equality in sports leads to equality in life.

This episode was recorded on March 22, 2024.
